llaptop over heating?

Hello.

I think my laptop seems to be overheating but not sure. If zI tried to check my e-mail and after about 20 minutes It becomes very slegish then freeses then I can not get it load. Anyone can tell me what is going on? Thanks.

You should clean the fans and the intake. You could have a dead fan, bad heat sink, etc maybe. But, clean it with compressed air for now and see if that helps.

and is the fan running all the time?

Is it getting hot? Can you restart it right away or do you have to wait until it cools down?

Also, can you check your CPU usage meter and see where it's hanging around at?

and when the fan kicks on, does it sound choppy and not stay at a certain rpm?

Hi I can run the pc for about 20 minutes then fan kicks on and does not shut off. Yes I have to wait until itt cools down. I did how how ever find out that my hard drive is bad and it has to be replaced. I do not know why Dell tech support had me takeit apart and stuff and now the hard drive is trash rather it is do from the hot casing not sure. And no I can not do any thing it was frose up. so that you could not do any thing.

Well a new hard drive is pretty cheap and you can install that pretty easily.
